Abbots Brae is a lovely small family-run Hotel situated in its own woodland garden. Eight spacious bedrooms are individually named after places within the stunning Cowal Peninsula, with each room displaying photographs and the history related to the place-name.

  • Bill Bailey at Queens Hall, Dunoon21st May 2012 – Bill, often a contestant on Qi does his amazing blend of comedy & music, playing a variety of instruments.
  • Loch Fyne Food Festival 19th/20th May 2012 - At Loch Fyne Oyster Bar, Cairndow. FREE ADMISSION. Food Tent - Featuring FOOD FROM ARGYLL. Ales supplied by Fyne Ales. Live music throughout both days.
  • Waverley Paddle Steamer – June 16th to the end of August – The Paddle Steamer Waverley sails from Dunoon on Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
  • Benmore Gardens – many events throughout the spring and summer! Make sure you see the best of Benmore by joining a guided tour. Tours take place on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday at 2pm.
  • Kevin Bridges at Queens Hall, Dunoon – 13th July 2012 – though only aged 26 Kevin has his own blend of Glasgow humour and is often on TV shows Live at the Apollo and Mock the Week.
  • Robert Mapplethorpe Exhibition, Dunoon Burgh Hall – throughout May and June - Mapplethorpe has proven to be one of the most celebrated artists of the 20th century, renowned for his magnificent black and white prints which have stirred artistic debate and intrigue.
  • Inveraray Highland Games 17th July 2012 - In the grounds of Inveraray Castle with field and track events, piping and Highland dancing competitions and 'heavy events' including the world championships for tossing the caber.
  • Art-Map Argyll12th-15th August 2012 - Argyll's Open Studios Event 2012 will take place in over 40 venues.
